Egypt’s Ministry of Education recently announced the country’s top-performing students in the 2025–2026 General Secondary Certificate examinations, but the list has drawn attention from Christian advocates after no Coptic Christians appeared among the nation’s 30 highest-ranked graduates. According to Coptic Solidarity, the official list of top ten students across Egypt’s three secondary school branches included only Muslim students. The organization noted that previous years’ lists generally included at least one Coptic student among the highest achievers, making the complete absence of Coptic Christians from this year’s rankings particularly notable.
