Nigerian government leaders remain in a global vise of attention and pressure for the ongoing mass killings and kidnappings of Christians by Islamic extremists. The U.S. Department of State this week opened the door for travel sanctions against Nigeria’s leaders who violate religious freedom. “The United States is taking decisive action in response to the mass killings and violence against Christians by radical Islamic terrorists, Fulani ethnic militias, and other violent actors in Nigeria and beyond,” the State Department said in a press release.
