By Pieter Vermeulen, ICC Board Member, as part of a series, “Persecuted but not Forsaken.” As we reach the final biblical foundation of this series, the Book of Revelation brings us into a remarkable scene. Throughout Scripture, we have seen the pattern unfold. Abel’s blood cried out from the ground. The prophets were rejected and persecuted. Job wrestled with the mystery of righteous suffering. Jesus walked the road of the cross. The apostles endured persecution for the gospel. The early church discovered that suffering often accompanied faithful witness. Now the Book of Revelation lifts the curtain on heaven itself.
