More than 300 Students and Staff Abducted in Nigeria; ICC President Issues Call to Action
Source excerpt
More than 300 students and staff were abducted from a Catholic School in the Northern Region of Nigeria on Friday. International Christian Concern (ICC) President Shawn Wright issued a statement, calling on government leaders to do more to protect vulnerable Christian communities. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Saturday raised its estimate of those taken from St. Mary’s School in Niger state on Friday from 227 to 315, including 303 students and 12 teachers. It is one of the worst kidnappings in the nation’s history, which has unfortunately become a flashpoint for Christian persecution.
