Fueling Persecution Part 3 of 4: When Scarcity Needs Someone to Blame
Source excerpt
By ICC Fellow Lisa Navarrette By the end of the month, Samuel has changed the prices in his small neighborhood shop three times. He is a Christian shopkeeper in Punjab, Pakistan. His shelves carry rice, cooking oil, flour, soap, bottled drinks, and a few household necessities. For years, most of his customers have been people he knows. Muslim and Christian families shop side by side. Children stop after school for snacks. Neighbors occasionally buy groceries on credit and repay him after payday. Lately, almost everything costs more. The truck bringing supplies charges more because fuel is expensive.
